Notified bodies (NANDO)NANDO( New Approach Notified and Designated Organisations ) Information SystemNew Approach Notified and Designated OrganisationsNotification is an act whereby a Member State informs the Commission and the other Member States that a body, which fulfils the relevant requirements, has been designated to carry out conformity assessment according to a directive. Notification of Notified Bodies and their withdrawal are the responsibility of the notifying Member State.
This Directive applies to the measuring instruments defined in the instrument-specific Annexes III to XII (hereinafter ‘instrument-specific Annexes’) concerning water meters (MI-001), gas meters and volume conversion devices (MI-002), active electrical energy meters (MI-003), thermal energy meters (MI-004), measuring systems for continuous and dynamic measurement of quantities of liquids other than water (MI-005), automatic weighing instruments (MI-006), taximeters (MI-007), material measures (MI-008), dimensional measuring instruments (MI-009) and exhaust gas analysers (MI-010).
This Regulation covers electrical equipment designed for use at voltages between 50 V - 1000 V for alternating current and 75 V - 1500 V for direct current, except for the equipment and situations listed in Annex II. The equipment and situations specified in Annex II of this Regulation are outside the scope of this Regulation.
This Directive regulates the electromagnetic compatibility of equipment. It aims to ensure the functioning of the internal market by requiring equipment to comply with an adequate level of electromagnetic compatibility.
The purpose of this Regulation is to regulate the basic safety requirements to be complied with at the design and manufacturing stage and the conformity assessment procedures to be followed and the minimum criteria to be taken into account in the appointment of notified bodies to carry out conformity assessment in order to ensure that the machines, when duly installed, maintained and used for their intended purposes, are placed on the market and put into service if they do not harm human health and safety and, as the case may be, domestic animals and goods.
